Project Description
Dr. Amanda Chan was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. Her parents are first-generation immigrants who have lived in the Dallas area for over 30 years. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, with minors in Business and Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. She received her medical degree from Texas A&M University’s College of Medicine but returned to her Longhorn roots to complete her pediatric residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. Dr. Chan is a Board Certified Pediatrician. Following residency, she has practiced in both Houston, Texas and Tampa, Florida. Dr. Chan and her husband now return to Houston following the completion of his fellowship training in Surgical Oncology. They are excited to return to Houston, their prior home of almost 10 years.
Dr. Chan became a physician to build lasting and positive relationships with children and families. During visits, Dr. Chan takes the time to answer any questions parents or their kids may have. She is thorough and makes sure her patients and families understand each aspect of their care. She wishes to become a steady, comforting and trusted resource for her patients.
In her spare time, Dr. Chan enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, crafting, and is a self proclaimed foodie.
