Dr. Yaxi Zeng was born in China, but immigrated to the United States with her family at the age of 1. She was primarily raised in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 2007 with a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular and Cell Biology. She then returned to Texas and received her medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch and went on to complete her pediatric residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston in 2015. Dr. Zeng is a board certified pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Zeng has been caring for her patients in the Houston area in an outpatient private practice since 2015. She joined Blue Fish in July of 2022.
Dr. Zeng is excited to join Blue Fish where she looks forward to building relationships with her patients and their families in addition to providing quality evidence based medical care. After becoming a mother herself, Dr. Zeng understands that the intricacies of balancing medical knowledge and practical knowledge is essential when caring for children. She hopes to be able to help her families navigate through parenthood with the knowledge she’s gained through her career and her own personal experiences. She believes that sharing these experiences is not only helpful for her patients, but that she could learn a few things from them as well!
Dr. Zeng and her husband, Kai, were married in 2012. They welcomed their 2 daughters, Evie and Maddie, into the world in 2017 and 2020. In her free time, Dr. Zeng enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She loves traveling, working on home and design projects, trying new restaurants, and her Peloton!

Parking: There is free parking in Garage 3 on the Memorial Hermann Memorial City Hospital campus. The entrance to Garage 3 is easiest to find off Kingsride between Gessner and Frostwood, next to the Chase bank branch. There is usually ample parking the higher up you go in the garage. The pedestrian crosswalk is located on the 2nd floor of the garage and connects directly into 915 Gessner (our building). There is also parking on the ground floor of Garage 3, but it is intended for ER parking and costs $20 unless you are seen in the ER that day.

Sunday: Closed
*Phone lines open at 8:30am. On weekdays for lunch, they are closed between 1:00pm and 2:30pm.

Sometimes, due to technical problems or the fact that the on call doctor is attending to another patient, your call may not be returned within 15 minutes. In this case please contact the page operator again and a doctor will return your call shortly.
During office hours, please call the office at (713) 467-1741 and ask to speak to a nurse.
After hours, please consult Health Topics on our website. If you have further questions or you need to contact one of our doctors, our office recording will give you the number to our page operator.
