Project Description
Dr. Neha Manikonda was born in California and raised in Texas since the age of one. Her family has lived in The Woodlands for over 2 decades, and she graduated from the nearby Woodlands College Park High School. She earned her B.S. in biology with minors in chemistry and Spanish from The University of Alabama at Birmingham, and she stayed at UAB to attend medical school. She completed her general pediatrics residency at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida before finally moving back to Texas to work as a general pediatrician in the Dallas area. In 2020 she was honored to be featured in DFW Child Magazine as a mom-approved pediatrician. Dr. Manikonda is board certified in pediatrics and is very excited to be returning to her hometown to care for children and families at Blue Fish Pediatrics.
Dr. Manikonda has known that she wanted to be a pediatrician since age 5 and has been working with children for many years through various activities including volunteering at hospitals, mentoring, tutoring, and babysitting. Her favorite part about being a pediatrician is building long-term relationships with families while getting to watch children grow and develop through the years. She is passionate about practicing evidence-based medicine and explaining things clearly to foster shared decision-making with parents and families. She knows that parenting can be very challenging and encourages an open dialogue and questions to help guide families along the journey.
In her free time Dr. Manikonda loves to spend time with her family and friends, and she is constantly making plans to travel as much as possible. She loves to read fiction and is always adding new books to her reading list. She is very excited to explore the food scene now that she is back in Houston. She speaks conversational Telugu and Spanish.
Dr. Manikonda will begin seeing patients at our Woodlands location in November 2021.
