Project Description
Dr. Christopher Reinhackel (Dr. Chris) is a native Houstonian who grew up in the West University area. He attended Annunciation Orthodox School and Episcopal High School before attending college at Denison University. At Denison, he played lacrosse and graduated with a B.S. in biology and developmental biology. He returned home to attend medical school at the University of Texas – McGovern School of Medicine. Dr. Chris stayed at UT for residency, working at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, M.D. Anderson, and Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital. During residency, he was awarded Intern of the Year for his excellent performance and stellar patient care. He was selected to serve as a chief resident for a year following residency, which enabled him to teach and mentor incoming residents while functioning as an attending physician.
Prior to joining Blue Fish, Dr. Chris completed a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Texas Children’s Hospital, where he rotated between the Texas Children’s Hospital in the Medical Center, West Campus in Katy, and the Woodlands Campus. In his final year of fellowship, he was again chosen to serve as chief fellow. He has continued to work in the emergency room, but also loves continuity with his patients and forming long lasting patient-doctor relationships. During his eight years working primarily at the TCH Emergency Department, Dr. Chris gained invaluable experience working with patients and parents in emergency settings. He understands the importance of fully explaining the care he is providing, having an ongoing dialogue with parents, and making sure families are comfortable with their patient experiences. He utilizes his experience and skills learned in the emergency room to help families feel more comfortable caring for their children with the ultimate goal of empowering families to raise happy and healthy children.
Dr. Chris and his wife, Ashley, are the proud parents of a feisty but adorable daughter. He is passionate about cooking and hosting dinner parties, fishing, and building any and everything he can at his family’s farm house in Victoria. Dr. Chris’s motto is “everything is figureoutable”—an approach that he takes both at home and when caring for patients.
Dr. Chris will begin seeing patients at our Memorial location on May 1, 2024.
