Dr. Christina Propst was born in New York City and raised in the New York metro area. She attended high school at Horace Mann School in New York and graduated from Princeton University in 1991.
At Princeton, she majored in Politics and completed her Pre-Med requirements, graduating Cum Laude. After college, Dr. Propst taught English in Tokyo, Japan for 2 years, traveling extensively in Asia whenever possible. Upon returning to the US, she enrolled at Tulane School of Medicine in New Orleans, graduating in 1998. Dr. Propst was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, an honor bestowed upon the top tier of American medical students.
Dr. Propst moved to Houston in 1998 for her pediatric residency training at Baylor College of Medicine-affiliated hospitals (including Ben Taub General Hospital and Texas Children’s Hospital) which she completed in 2001. The same year, Dr. Propst became board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and became a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Propst has worked in group practice in Houston for 17 years before joining Blue Fish in 2018 and has been voted “Best Pediatrician” in the Bellaire Examiner in numerous reader polls. She has authored and co-authored several Op-Ed pieces advocating for children and promoting child safety. Throughout her career, Dr. Propst has provided thorough and compassionate care for children and she strongly values Blue Fish’s commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based, preventative medicine.
Dr. Propst is married to her college sweetheart, Tristan. They have 2 sons, Aidan and Casey, who were both born in Houston. In her spare time, Dr. Propst enjoys exercising, travel, sailing, skiing and gardening. She particularly treasures time spent with her family and considers parenthood to be the most educational, challenging, rewarding and fulfilling experience of her life.
