Project Description

Dr. Julia Aguirre was raised in a suburb of Chicago and ventured to Texas for her undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Dallas, where she majored in biology and played collegiate volleyball. She then moved to Colorado to attend medical school at Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic medicine and later returned to Texas for her pediatric residency at UT Houston McGovern Medical School. There she worked at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, and Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital.
She married her husband Derek, a proud Houstonian, in 2019, and they welcomed their first daughter, Hallie, in 2025. They attend Seven Mile Road church, and you can find them taking walks in the neighborhood with their playful Irish Doodle named Moose. Dr. Aguirre enjoys hosting friends and family in their home, exploring Houston’s ever-evolving food scene, and spending slow mornings with a cup of (probably lukewarm) coffee in hand.
Dr. Aguirre views her role as a pediatrician as someone families are locking arms with as they navigate the joys and challenges of parenthood. She prioritizes explaining the medical care she provides and strives to be a trusted resource for any and all of her families’ concerns. Dr. Aguirre is overjoyed to be part of the Blue Fish Greater Heights team and considers it a privilege to care for you and your precious little ones!
