Project Description

Dr. Murthy grew up in Sugar Land, Texas. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of Texas at Austin, majoring in Plan II Honors and Sanskrit. Her unconventional academic pursuits somehow led her to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas where she graduated in 2014. She completed her pediatric residency training at Baylor College of Medicine-affiliated hospitals (including Ben Taub and Texas Children’s Hospital) in 2017.

Dr. Murthy has experience in both primary care and urgent care. Her first job after residency was at a community health center in one of Houston’s most diverse zip codes. There, she was fortunate to meet people from all over the world, further cementing her belief that every child deserves access to high-quality care regardless of their background. Dr. Murthy knows that each child and family is unique and is passionate about partnering with families to better serve their healthcare needs. It wasn’t until having children of her own did she realize the true meaning of “it takes a village,” and she hopes to play a small role in this proverbial village for her patients.

Dr. Murthy lives with her husband and two children, born in 2020 and 2023. She enjoys exploring new coffee shops, being outdoors, and tends to have a hobby of picking up new hobbies – if you have any suggestions, she is probably interested. She is an avid reader and crossword puzzler, and she considers herself a lifelong learner. She appreciates the power of words, and one day hopes to write and illustrate a children’s book. She is just waiting for her muse.

Dr. Murthy will begin seeing patients at our Greater Heights location on December, 9, 2024.
