Dr. Katherine “Kat” Lusk was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota where she grew up as one of seven children. She later attended Texas A&M where she earned a degree in Finance while completing her pre-med requirements. She later obtained her M.D. from the University of Texas at Houston in 2012, and then completed her residency training in pediatrics at the University of Texas at Houston affiliated hospitals (Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, MD Anderson, and LBJ General Hospital) in 2015. She officially joined the Blue Fish family in 2015 after getting to spend three years precepting under Dr. Torn during residency.
She and her husband, Jonathan, met while at Texas A&M and married in May of 2008. They welcomed their son, Jackson, in May of 2015, followed by their second son, Samuel, in October 2017, and consider parenting a great joy and privilege. They are also proud parents of two snuggly Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Libby Lou, and Annie Mae.
The Lusks have enjoyed living in Houston since 2008 and are currently members of The Story Houston Church, where they enjoy serving in the children’s and marriage ministries. In her spare time, Dr. Lusk enjoys spending time outdoors, working out, cooking/feeding people, and most of all being a mom.

Parking: There is free parking in Garage 3 on the Memorial Hermann Memorial City Hospital campus. The entrance to Garage 3 is easiest to find off Kingsride between Gessner and Frostwood, next to the Chase bank branch. There is usually ample parking the higher up you go in the garage. The pedestrian crosswalk is located on the 2nd floor of the garage and connects directly into 915 Gessner (our building). There is also parking on the ground floor of Garage 3, but it is intended for ER parking and costs $20 unless you are seen in the ER that day.
